Hi there - I'm from the University of Canberra and currently we need to export sidecar captions files in .srt format and use an external converter tool to convert caption files to .vtt for all content created that needs to be uploaded to our video hosting software Echo Video.
If we could export directly to .vtt this would be a gamechanger and save us so much time in our processses.
A key issue for me was the need for PR to have a sidecar option for Subtitles that carries reasonable style/position information. Many users are asking for your focus, which is just a converter. You'll see a link to a survey on this topic; I just checked and it is still active.
