Pasting clips between timelines not going to targeted track, keeping original track position

Previous to 2024.6.1, I could target a timeline track to indicate which track I would like a piece of media copied from a different timeline posted to. Currently the media is posted to whichever track it was on in the original timeline. As someone whose job it is to organize timelines, this is extremely frustrating. Even if I lock all the layers except for the layer I wish to copy to, the clip appears on a new layer above all the other ones, if the layer I indicate is "lower" than its original position in the first timeline. It adds another step to my process which, as I am sure NLE folks will agree, is a bad thing. I am sure there are cases/workflows where this new feature is helpful, but I have yet to run into one of them. This and the removal of fx badge colors are the main issues my coworkers and I have wth this new version.

I just found out you can switch this behavior in Keyboard Shortcuts. Thank you Community!

New keyboard shortcuts and potential keyboard shortcuts. In my case, I don't particularly like what they did. I see why they did it, but it took some new keyboard remapping in my custom keyboard settings to make it work right.

This was a heavily requested change, that is also disruptive for the users who didn't ask for it. There are menu options in either the Preferences or Timeline menus, and keyboard shorts, that get you the old behavior. I'm not remembering the exact location and names. Probably someone else will.

But you can get the previous behavior.
