The Ability to Align and Transform Text in Premiere Pro 2025

I would like to ask that "Essential Graphics" be returned to the workspace in Premiere Pro 2025. It was in Pro 2024 and on the right side of the Main View with Effects, Lumetri and other tabs. According to Kriti and what I found it, it was removed from the right side panel. With Kriti's help we were able to find what I've been using by adding Properties to the right side of the page. I use the centering of Text to the Program monitor (align and transform) and it disappeared from its normal position with the change of Pro 2024 to Pro 2025. I feel this is an important feature to have readily available as it was also easy to use - being able to center Text to the frame both vertically and horizontally and align the text to fit to the frame.

Yeah, i completely agree, having essential graphics right there in the workspace made everything so much easier.

I posted an OBS screencast showing my frustration with align feature.

I am working well with Preemiere Pro 25 now. Thank you all for your help.

  • My bad: I forgot the basic user interface for aligning text does not allow aligning shapes or graphics. So moving from Essential Graphics to the Properties menu was not a big deal - sort of like shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic, I suppose.
  • Of course, all your product advocate videos are now wrong, and the hour to rediscover the new menu location multiplied by (30 million users) multiplied by an average cost per hour of $30 USD is a whopping $90 million waste to the creative design community. Was it worth it?
  • In the hopes of proving you wrong on text + graphic element alignment (but you were right!) I tested FCP in the hopes that their alignment tool would work. But no, this popular non-subscription alternative does not offer text alignment with graphic elements either. But FCP does have a separate tool called Motion, where users can create titles with graphic drop-ins. Then I realized I can do my design in Photoshop with layers, align text and graphic elements with ease, and import the Photoshop layers into Premiere Pro. So I am sticking with the Adobe Creative Suite for now.
  • Adobe chief executive Shantanu Narayen in 2013 during launch of Creative Suite 6: "
a goal for a more consistent or enhanced user interface was mentioned at the launch of
Creative Suite 6 (CS6), where Adobe announced an enhanced user interface that focuses the user's attention on their work with minimal distractions across the core products. The initial Creative Suite launched in 2003 under a different CEO, where the focus was primarily on integrating the product line into a single package.
The specific reference to an "enhanced user interface" was part of the CS6 launch event in April 2012, during the keynote by current CEO Shantanu Narayen. The broader launch included a shift in business model to the subscription-based Adobe Creative Cloud, where the focus was on delivering services and updates via the cloud. The enhanced UI was a key feature touted for improving performance and user experience across the suite's applications. "
  • Note to Adobe Premeire Pro product team - before it is too late. Return to Shantanu Narayen's vision. Stop doing easy stuff that costs the community big money - like folding Essential Graphics into Properties menu - and improve consistancy between the tools in Creative Suite. In this case: roll in Adobe Photoshop alignment menus into Premiere.
  • I include screenshots on how to do it!

All I want to do is align a piece of text and an image in the middle of the screen, and I'm very disappointed to see that you can no longer align things. Very frustrating for something that should be simple.

Of course you can still align things! Please read the above posts. It's only a slightly different process.

Especially if you add the image as a graphic to the text graphic ... but even if you have it on a different track, easy enought to select both and animate.

It has taken me HOURS to figure out that you cannot align graphic elements any longer. You must manually align them to a guide. It wasn't broken...why 'fix' it Adobe? PLEASE bring back Essential Graphics and save us some time here. Thanks.

Um ... others are doing this ... it's still possible.

Go back to the first page of this thread, and look through Ann Bens' posts. She show how with pics. It's entirely doable still.

For stills in the timeline use the guides in the Program Monitor.

Wrench > snap in Program Monitor.

None of these programs can or will stay the same forever. They have to change as the needs, wants, and capabilities of hardware and users constantly change.

Yes, it's annoying at times. But absolutely necessary.

Annoying for me, I've just bought premiere and now thinking of getting rid of it, makes it extremely hard for someone who has just started when you have to consistently change what you've learnt, I've been here for an hour just trying to align all my text to the center at once

I don't have that. It's so frustrating. I don't have a align property on a simple text. It's so frustrating!!!!

Yea ... the first time I saw the new panel in the beta, I went ... what the hay? ... took a couple minutes to really understand how to use it.

Once you do, it's ok. Some folks really LOVE it. I tolerate it. It can work. Ah well.

The new Properties panel is confusing at first. Among other things, when you simply click on a mogrt or graphic on the timeline, you get a pretty empty Properties panel with just the "motion" properties of location/size et al.

But now, click on the Program monitor, on anything in the text or graphic item in that mogrt?

The Properties panel now has all the controls you're used to seeing in the EGP, including the layer stack up top.

Sorry, but can you please explain what is "MOGRT" and "EGP"?  Thank you.

Motion Graphics, referred to as mogrts.
