25p footage imported as 25i in version 13.1.0

Hello!

As the titles says, my 25p AVCHD footage, shot with a Sony FDR-AX53, started getting imported as 25i since the PP 13.1 update. It still imports correctly as 25 into PP 12.1.2.

I tried submitting a bug report, but, as far as I can see, unless a crowd of people encounters the bug and upvotes my report, nobody is even going to notice it.

Any ideas why this is happening and how I could fix it?

Thanks in advance!

I am getting the same issues with footage from a Panasonic AG-AC160, both the latest version of premiere pro and media info say that the 1080 25p footage is interlaced when it definitely is not, I have the camera set to "AVCHD - PH 1080 25p".

I use the interpret footage as progressive option but i cannot guarantee premiere isn't still messing up the footage, it is no longer interlaced but is it treating it exactly like the original files?.

If the camera records as interlaced but writes as progressive, Premiere gets confused. Hence the interpreting to progressive is necessary.

There was no issue in previous verisions. Why does 13.1 get confused but previous versions don't? I was hoping an update in 13.1.3 might have fixed this, but it hasn't. I am also using 2 x AC160s set to AVCHD - PH1080 25p and having the same issue. This means a lot of checking and double checking due to the amount of clips I get sent/produce each day. It might seem like a small, insignifacnt extra step to modify the clips to interpret as progressive, but is is slowing me down and bringing a lot of doubt into what I am producing -  and of course when I'm super busy I can forget that step because it's not part of my normal workflow.

Got the same problem with clips from Sony FS700 AVCHD. THe 25p clips imports as 25i  UFF.

To fix it, right click on the clip/s in the Project panel and choose Modify > Interpret Footage and under Field Order, select "Conform to:" No Fields (Progressive Scan) and click OK.

Of course this is an option, but when you're editing maybe tens of videos (separately or as part of a clip) - then this is not a good option. It is a workaround, but I would prefer a fix.

As I mentioned several times already, it's not interlaced footage, it's 25p. Both my cameras (the HDR-CX730E and FDR-AX53) are set to shoot in 25p. All versions of Premiere detected it correctly as 25p, until this last version. If I import it as 25i into Premiere (as the last version does by default), I get garbage video quality, a clear sign that the interpretation as 25i is wrong.

Why MediaCoder sees it as 25i is another question, but I can live without an answer to it.

Mediainfo does not tell fibs.

Can you upload a short clip?

It seems you are wrong: after emailing back and forth with Adobe Support, until they finally understood what the bug is (as far as I can see, their support people are not at all familiar with their products), they recommended me to "please write us on the below wish form

https://www.adobe.com/products/wishform.html", meaning my bug report has not been even noticed.
