Hi all,

I have recently purchased a Sony FDR-AX53 4K camcorder. The 4K file types are .thm which I am not familiar with and Premiere CC 2018 doesn't recognise them - help!

Correct answer Ann Bens

The thm files are auxiliary files. If you import via the Project window Pr will try to import everything.

Its perfectly normal for Pr to reject the thm files.

Copy entire card to hdd.

Ingest via Media Browser.

then Pr will import only what is needed.

Are you sure that the .thm files are the video files? Your camera shoots xavc files, which are wrapped into mp4 container.

.thm sounds like they actually are thumbnails files used by your camera.

Hope this helps,

Seb

So, shooting in 4K mode...the MP4 files are of that quality?
