8k video test request

I used those settings to export a 7 second clip of a still 1920x1080 image (44KB).

PP rendered out a 14.2MB file with a resolution of 7680x4320

It won't play on my computer because it lacks the processing and graphics power as well as having only an HD monitor.
I posted it to the web to see if it would play in a browser to no avail. http://jforbes.us/8kvideo/8kTest.mp4

The play head shows in browser but no video.

I'd be interested to determine if anyone here is interested in testing 8K video and letting me know the result.

I'd like to know if an 8K video will play on a system that is able to handle 4K. My system barely handles 2k video.

H.265 is not a very commonly supported codec yet. It is not really supported in any browsers.

"Only" having an HD monitor is not a factor in whether or not it plays back.

This file plays back fine on my 2017 Retina 5k iMac using IINA. Project IINA - The modern video player for macOS

It does NOT play fine on my 2015 MacBook Air using IINA.

It plays back somewhat choppy on my i5-4760s PC using MPC.

If you do another test like this in the future, add more motion so it's easier to tell if playback is choppy or frozen.
