Any fix for making proxy from media with 4 channel audio?

Tried all the solutions I could find in this forum, but still can't get it working.

> Ive made presets in AME with Quicktime & Cineform - tested them and they work ok to export a clip with 4 audio channels in AME

> I've created ingest preset, exported from AME, then imported the setting via "Add Ingest Preset" in the "Create Proxy" menu in PPro

- still get error message saying mismatch audio - on the same clip that worked perfectly straight from AME,

Has anyone got a fix for this yet?

I edit remotely, another editor sends me project & proxy via the internet, I cut & send back to him. Workflow is all ok when media has stereo audio, but with 4 chan media he has to re-encode the media with stereo audio to make proxies.

any ideas/help much appreciated

Use only the included Cineform presets.

Acquire the original media, or have the other editor create Cineform Transcodes rather than proxies.

thanks, yea cineform working ok, but the files turn out bigger than the original :/

uncompressed audio is probably the culprit, and no way to change it

O yup, so the proxy feature is for saving ur processor from 4k hell, not so much for doing the old skool "offline edit:" (im originally an avid editor )

biggest issue for me is that I'm on a rural internet connection, so like 5Mbps on a good day, so shrinking file size what i need,

I think i can get it working with transcode

The bottle neck has changed from the hard drive to the CPU with today's media, but actually, that's exactly what you're doing with proxies - an offline edit.

The beauty is that PP will always use the original media for export (so long as it remains connected).
