aspect ratio for a screen of 29.7 meters width x 3.8 meters height

Hello

I hope I can get some advice! I have a client who wants to project videos on a screen 29.7 meters width x 3.8 meters height. These videos are 16x9, 1920x1080 so I'm thinking of screening several videos at the same time one next to the other so they fill the 29.7x3.8 screen. The final film will be screened as one single video file. I have to send my client a test in a few days so we can see if this works. However, I'm confused on how to do it. How can I calculate the scale and do it accurately in premiere?

I can export an Apple ProRes sequence at 7680 x 1024, there is also a high quality cross-platform QuickTime codec that works:

You need to find out what file format they recommend for their playback system. I'm guessing you'll want to export a HAP codec file and have them convert to their system's needs.

For now what has worked is to export a h264 file half size. It lets me indeed export an Apple Prores at that resolution. However,  although the sequence settings are set to 7680x1024 when I export for some reason the file is wider...!

In any case as all you suggest, I'll be in contact with the screen suppliers.

Wow, one projector for a 29.7 meter width? Is the projector truly 1920 x 1080?

Here's how I do the math for this:

29.7 / 3.8 = 7.8157894  : 1 aspect

1920 / 7.8157894 = 245.6  (vertical pixels)

Personally, if the projector is 1920 x 1080, I'd build a 1920 x 1080 sequence and place a mask over all the video with a hole that's 1920 x 246. (I like to create in Photoshop) You should also confirm how they intend to mask off the unused portion of the 1080 height, there 'may' be an advantage to placing the video at the very top or bottom of the 1920 x 1080 projected image.

    Hi

    I've made further enquiries and there won't be any projector. It's a LED screen so they will be screening everything (powerpoint presentations and videos) from a computer. So I have to produce one single video file that is the dimensions of the screen.

    For now I've run some tests, I created a sequence on premiere with pixels dimension of the screen 7680x1024. But when I go to export premiere doesn't let me export with the sequence settings and the export settings go to 4.096 w x 546 h (and doesn't allow me to change it higher than 4.096)

    Regarding what @qengineering suggests I created a template on photoshop with the dimensions of 1920 x 246 but when I import it to premiere in a sequence of 1920x1080 the aspect ratio doesn't work.

    Just wondering if you have any other ideas or  what I am doing wrong... Sorry, I am not a senior editor!.

    Are they using one projector, or several? Dividing the width by height gives the ratio, of course. How you prep will depend on how it will be projected. You may need multiple files or they may have a way to break up a single file into the multiple projectors. Homework is needed. Basically you will create a mask in Premiere or AE and then fill from there. You may need to create some nested timelines - all depends on how projection is set up.

    They will be using only one projector and I have to produce 1 file of video only. I already did some tests creating the mask but my confusion is: how can I calculate the proportions of the mask?
