'Attach proxies' dialogue box simply not showing up - Premiere freezes

I'm working on a fairly big project, and I have created proxy files for all the footage within Adobe Media Encoder. When I go back into Premiere (V 14.3.1) to attach the proxies (right clicking the clip, proxies, attach proxies) - Premiere Pro acts like a dialogue box is popping up but nothing shows up. Then I can't click out of this, can't close Premiere, can't do anything.

I have to then go into the task manager to force quit the program. Has anyone had this issue and how did you fix it?

Correct answer Ann Bens

Easiest way to make proxies is to right click on the clips in the Project Window > Proxies.

This way you dont have to attach anything. Proxies are already attached when AME is done.

Anyway start with: FAQ: How to reset (trash) preferences.

Hmm, is this a recent update?

I remember specifically having to attach the files. But this seems to be working when I toggle on/off in my timeline.

Thank you.
