Question

Burning with Encore on Blu-Ray

Hey Guys,

I allready searched the posts for my problem and I could find a few good answers, but I still couldnt solve my problem yet:

The last months I put a lot of work into digitalizing all my families old video footage, cutting it with Premiere Pro, sorting by date and finally creating a nice menu in Encore (I am using a macbook pro). Now it comes to burning and I was facing several errors. Some of them I was able to solve by lowering the bit rate, removing all special characters in the files name and so on. I got so far that I was able to create a blu-ray folder on my computer but the program didnt burn (QUMOX external BD burner USB 3) the same blu-ray on disk. So I tried to burn the folder on a disk with ImgBurn. Even though the folder is smaller than 25gb, the software warns me, that its too big for the disk (Verbatim BD-R Printable 25gb). I tried it anyways but after half the day it was still just starting...

I tried to half the video to lower the filesize = didnt work

latest error I had:

If you guys got any helpful tips for me i would be so glad! Also Any suggestions for alternative software are welcome 🙂

Please feel free to ask if you need further information.

Best Lukas

Hi Guys,

thanks for your good tips! Okay I managed to create an ISO from Encore wich I wanted to burn on Blu-Ray Disk. I mistaken with the software though. I use DVDFab for burning because ImgBurn is not available for mac. Anyways I burned the iso on disk but on my blu-ray player the movie just started without the menu. I wanted to test if its the player so I played the iso on computer and there I could navigate with the menu. What do you think makes a software decide that the menu is not important for the project? 😄

I have the feeling I am getting more close to the solution! Hope to hear more from you 🙂

I just the other day I had the same error message.

Re-encoded the file and all was well.

Code 3 Encore https://community.adobe.com/t5/Premiere-Pro/I-SOLVED-THE-ERROR-CODE-3/td-p/10026885

Also, in Windows - never mind, missed this "using a macbook pro"

I agree with Averdahl. I might do a test with a single video and simple menu first. But I would do a little additional troubleshooting on the burning step. For example, with DVD, it is possible to burn files to a disk but not as a DVD format.

Size may be an issue. A single layer BD is called 25 GB, but is actually only 23.3 GiB.

What exactly are you doing in ImgBurn to burn the BD folder? What did you use to play the folder on your computer?

Encore is a good software but comes with a temper. If you create a Encore project and add and change things in the project over time you will 9 out of 10 times end up with problems.

The best way is to create a new Encore project and re-do the project in one go. I never have a problem with Encore and do always use it when everything is ready to go, when the menues have been created in Photoshop, when the video assets already have the correct names, when the video assets already have the correct bitrates. When i started doing that all odd errors at build disappeared in one go.

When done, don´t burn using Encore. Create a ISO-file with Encore instead of burning directly and use a third part app such a ImgBurn to burn the disc using the ISO-file Encore created.

You will probably save time by starting over than try to find what´s wrong with the current project. 🙂
