Can't Edit Clips in Adobe Audition

So now I suddenly can't use one of my favorite features of Premiere - editing a clip in Adobe Audition.

I just upgraded to CS6 Master Collection.  When I right-click on an audio clip in Premiere, "Edit with Adobe Audition" is grayed out.  When I click the audio clip and select Edit > Edit in Adobe Audition, it goes through all the preparation, but Audition doesn't launch.

Bug?  Is there something I need to switch on somewhere?  Dynammic Link Media is selected, so I'm at a loss right now.

Any suggestions?

One thing that worked for me was with Premiere open, I opened Audition as an Administrator. Right click on Audition and choose "Run as Administrator". Then I opened the folder where my extracted audio files were being saved by premiere. I right clicked on that audio file and choose to open with Audition. After that was successful I went back into premiere and tried to right click on a different audio file in premiere and choose open with Audition and it worked without any error messages.

TEMPORARY solution before we find the real solution, export a waveform audio, and edit it in Audition then import and use it in premiere

None of the suggestions have worked for me. I've tried them. I still have "Preparing Audio for Adobe Audition" pop up and it never makes any progress.

    Hi Adobe...

I have already answered a solution to this post which was accepted by other community members in this discussion and I got an ACCLAIM from Adobe.

Initially the status of this post was "ANSWERED" but again now its showing NOT ANSWERED and I also the LOST THE ACCLAIM in my profile.

Any reasons why is it still open?

    Thanks,

look at the file extension of the audio file...

if you brought the clip into Premier, for example as an mp4, or maybe brought in a wav, or mp3 file, then you must change the default program that opens these extensions to Audition.
Just experience the same problem, removed Premier, reinstalled, same issue.

Opened previous project that had mp4 on timeline....

went to the file explorer and found and mp4 file, right click on file, open with, choose default program, change the default program to Audition....
I have changed the default program for all audio files now to be audition.
Keep in mind that if you have mp3 files that you like to listen to while you work, they will now no longer open in media player, or WinAmp by default.

You will now see that if you have unlinked the audio from the video clip, that when you right click on the audio file in the timeline, and choose edit original, it will now open in Audition....

    ...enjoy!!

I'll put it this way:  it worked fine in CS5.5.  I just started using CS6 and this was the first time I tried to edit audio with Audition from Premiere.  Just installed the updates.  They did not help.  I'm on a Windows 7 machine, Intel core i5,M460, 2,53GHz, 64-bit OS.  I was just trying to edit a small audio clip in Audition and have it update in Premiere.  Rudimentary stuff that I never had a problem with.

Here's a screen capture.  This is what I see when I go Edit > Edit in Adobe Audition.

"Open in Adobe Audition" is grayed out.  I can't select it even if I remove the check marks from other selections.

If there's anything else I need to provide, let me know.

Works OK here and your screen capture does not show up, so give details as requested.
