Question

Can't Export from Specific Sequence in Premiere Pro 2019

Hi,

I have a project with a range of different sequences. All different draft versions of the same project.

They are all identical sequences, but the one completed version which i want to output does not let me export in any format.

I have tried h.264, quicktime, mxf, even just a straight waveform audio, but nothing works. I have also tried exporting only small sections of the sequence to identify if it is an issue with a specific piece of footage/audio but that does not work either.

I have also tried to export through media encoder but it crashes during the "Queuing" period.

Other sequences export fine.

I have tried to import the project into a brand new project but whenever i tried, Premiere crashes and cant do it. I have copied the contents of the sequence into a new sequence, but this also does not work.

I have deleted the render files, cleared the cache (manualy), reset preferences, and "saved as" the project but still no luck.

I have many other projects that export and work fine, it's just this specifc sequence inside this specfic project that appears to be the issue.

Below are the specs of my comp:

Inte Core i9-9940x CPU

RAM 64gb

Quadro RTX 5000

Premiere Version: 13.1.3 (Build 44)

I do not want to update Premiere as i have multiple projects on the go and dont want to risk coming into issues with the new version. This is working fine for me with this one exception.

Sequence settings:

Export settings -> As i said it doesnt matter the export settings, even a straight waveform export does not work.

Finally the export does do the "rendering audio files" portion of the export process, but when it begins to Encode, it stays at 0% indefinitely.

Thanks for the help!

Hi,

Sorry about the lack of response over the holiday season.

I hate it when people dont reply to threads once they have solved the issue so i thought i would comment on how i have now resolved it. (Sorry for the long post)

My assumption was that there MUST be a corrupted file. As i had gone through every other avenue suggested, as well as doing some other file transfers to different internal drives etc etc and nothing seemed to work.

I went into Premiere and made ALL my footage offline.
I then relinked a few folders at a time, waiting to see if some footage would not relink.

Towards the end of the process I found it. 3 clips had corrupted.

Why had they corrupted since they were perfectly fine only a day earlier to this all starting? I have not a clue.
But luckily for myself, i had backups of these clips on a different server which were working fine. I deleted the corrupted files from my computer, downloaded the back up files, placed them into the same folder structure, relinked as normal.

Success

Now this is a great ending to what has been a very stressful and time consuming process.

But what I believe would be a great asset to Premiere Pro is a way of identifying these clips when going to export, just as it now does with Warp Stabilising or if a clip is offline (even if its inside a nest). The clips didnt show up as faulty in any noticeable way in premiere until I had found them and tried to play them. One could argue that if i had sat and watched the who edit then i probably would have realised sooner. You're probably right. But there is also a chance i could have missed it, or assumed it was a little bit of lag in the playback as i wasnt able to render the large scale sequence either.

My edit was 30 minutes long with hundreds of cuts and clips.

I'm not saying my workflow is perfect, and I'm sure there are ways i could improve it, but I still think that it would have been so much easier if the above feature (Prem identifying and notifying a faulty clip like this one) was possible.

Make new sequence and copy everything over

and/or make new project and import old one.

See how that goes;

Also you can try,

Hi Kartika,

I have attempted to render the sequence, but regardless if when i place the In/Out points, the render does not start.

No duraition appears, the render pop up window is blank.

Example below:

Thanks

Here are the few steps you may try:

  1. Save a copy of your project as a backup file.
  2. Right-click on your audio file which you think gives an error. Select Render and Replace... then click OK.

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kartika

Hi!

I tried what you suggested but it's still not working.

The strange part of it all is that its not the project as a whole thats not allowing me to export, but only this sequence.

I must assume there is a shot or piece of audio during this sequenece that is making Premiere not begin the export process. As it makes no other sense.

Thanks

Hi!

Thank you for responding.

Go to Sequence > Render In and Out. This will render the timeline/sequence. Check if the rendering completes or if it's getting stuck at a particular frame. That way you may know if there is any particular issue with the video/audio files.

Thank you,

Kartika
