cannot enter vieo and audio files- it only sees the audio

HELP!!!!!! I insert a first video with audio file, but thereafter it wont allow me to insert a video with audio file- it only allows the audio to be loaded onto the timeline. V frustrating. What is going wrong? none of the files are corrupt.

Most common user error is not source patching the track.
Solved by first opening clip in Source Monitor, set in and out point. Then drag/insert into timeline.
