Did you know you can change the codec for your rendered video preview files? You can, and it's very easy to do.
- Choose Editing Mode > Custom at the top of the Sequence Settings dialog box.
- Change the settings for the Video Previews > Preview File Format to ProRes, Cineform, or DNxHD/HR at the frame size that matches your sequence.
Why change the format for your rendered preview files?
- One good reason is that you need to do this to set up your sequence for smart rendering (which allows you to export very quickly).
- A smart rendering requirement is that you'd need to change the format for rendered video preview files to one that matches the settings of your export format.
