Colour grading over an AE linked comp

Question

I have a linked comp with a simple text animation overlaid over a clip of video.  When I go to colour grade the clip either in the Premiere Colour Module, or Speed Grade the changes I make effect the colours and tones in the text.  How can I grade the clip below without affecting the text?  I do not want to grade in After Effects.  The whole point of the grading functionality within Premiere and linked to Speed Grade, is the ease of grading straight out of Premiere, with real grading tools.  After Effects has different tools and is cluncky in comparison.

That can be interpreted in two ways. That the linked comp has text, and is placed over a video clip in PP. Or that the linked comp contains both the text and the video.

The former scenario will allow you to color the video without also coloring the text, the latter will not.

I would move the footage back into Premiere and just have the text in AE. If you need the video for placement, just set it as a guide layer. That way it will be available for placement but will not render or show in premiere. Then place the AE comp in a layer above your footage. That way you can grade the footage in premiere and it will not effect the text and other info from AE.
