Create proxies from existing sequence
Hi -
I have a sequence where I've created a long assembly edit for a client. I collected and copied the files for that sequence in the Project Manager straight to a hard drive for them so they have it all. But now they've requested proxy files for those files within that sequence.
Adobe support chat says there's no way to do this except for creating proxy files for each of the clips in that sequence, sending to the client, then having the client re-link to each of those proxy files INDIVIDUALLy (there are hundreds of clips). He said there is no other way.
When I said, "since the proxy files had the same names as the originals, could they move the originals, then open the project and when it doesn't find the original files, re-link all to the proxy files and do the same in reverse to re-link the hi res files after the edit is done?"
He then said, "yes that will work." Which left me with a feeling that he didn't really know what he was talking about so much.
So, are there other, more streamlined solutions to this problem that anyone knows about? I'd appreciate it. And if not - will my off the cuff workaround above work?!
Thanks in advance.
David
