DCP and 23.98 question

Hello!

I am exporting my movie to dcp, looking at the options in the encoder.

I am unfortunately not a tech person, but this being my movie it's landing on me to try to understand and get the festival the accurate export and of course I'm nervous because I won't be able to test it before I send it off today (long story on that one) and even if I had the money to get it done elsewhere, I don't know any of LA that would be open to help me out today.

The question: We shot in 23.98, I'm seeing the 24 fps on the drop down menu and wonder if it automatically shifts everything so my sync doesn't go out etc

and if something else needs to be done, any help or advice on what that is would be amazing.

Thank you in advance.

Best,

Christie

without optical interpolation, i think it just dumps it in there, in sync, but slightly jerky. A smoother export would be to render out the 23.976 and place that in a 24 sequence for a slight speed change but still synced and not frame clipped temporally.

ok,

let me see if I understand correctly.

1-render

2-place on 24 fps timeline

3-add audio as is from one sequence to the next? or does something need to also happen with the audio?

Thank you for your help.

you can skip#3 as the render maintains the sync.
