Dell XPS15 GTX1050 Ti - CUDA Acceleration keeps quitting

The CUDA acceleration quits (black screen) within few minutes of editing on my Dell XPS15 with NVidia GTX1050 Ti.  I updated to the latest Nvidia driver (416.81) and that did not solved the issue. To re-enable the driver, I simply quit and restart Premiere Pro but that is really annoying as it happens every few minutes or so.  Here are my system specs:

Dell XPS15 i9-8950 2.9GHz - 6 Cores

Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti

32GM RAM

Windows 10 Pro 64

XDCAM X-AVCI 4K media on G-RAID Thunderbolt 3

Premiere Pro CC 13.0.1

I think I solved the issue by clearing the cache files in the Cache setting.

I have found that Open CL runs a lot smoother than CUDA on this machine

And also make sure you have Intel's driver .6373 installed.  Windows update loves to revert to an older Intel driver that doesn't play nice at all with Premiere.  All I can say is that Premiere Pro 13.1 CUDA support is VERY dependent on your Intel/Nvidia driver combination.  That is quite unusual as in the past, I found Premiere to be pretty agnostic to this.  I never experience so manu crashes and CUDA playback problems with previous versions.

Still battling with this....  The only Nvidia GeForce driver version that provided reliable CUDA support was 397.93 but I can no longer use it under the current version of Win 10 64bit.  Only version I can install are 416.34 or 416.81 and they both experience issues with CUDA playback in Premiere Pro CC.  Rrrrr.... This is frustrating when using a brand new machine. Back to Open GL mode

After a few tries, the Nvidia installer let me downgrade to 397.93.  All is working well now.  So, buyers of the newest Dell XPS 15 with GeForce GTX 1050 Ti, beware!  Do not update to the latest Nvidia driver versions 416.34 or 416.81.

Be aware that with 397.93, you will NOT have CUDA acceleration at all whatsoever with CC 13.0.x. In fact, you may be semi-permanently locked to the software-only mode with that driver unless you also downgrade your version of Premiere Pro CC to 12.1.2 or earlier.

Well, actually not.  It helped a bit but I am loosing CUDA acceleration again.  And Media Encoder crashed a lot with CUDA enabled...  Need to finish a project and reverted to Open CL which seems to be stable but slower....
