DVD Authoring in the Post-Encore Days?

We have a client who continues to require a DVD of their finished products as part of their deliverables. Now that Adobe no longer alows access to CS6/Encore, what are you folks using? I need an authoring tool that will 1). run in Windows 7 (it's a long story why we can't upgrade), 2). allow for closed-caption sidecar files and 3). auto-sync the separate video and audio files created in a PPCC MPEG-2 export. Any recommendations?

DVD Styler is a free program for creating DVD discs, not Blu-ray discs.  It does not reincode MPEG2-DVD videos created in Premiere.

Michael-- I checked the Styler website and it mentions subtitles, but do you know if I can add true closed-captions using sidecar (.scc) files? That's a requirement on all government productions.

I also use TMPGEnc.  It is a very good DVD/BluRay tool.  Not quite as powerfule as Encore, but very good.

Andy, have you ever used .scc sidecar caption files with your projects in TMPGEnc? Just want to be sure that function is available before I buy it. I emailed the company this afternoon but haven't heard back from them yet.

I use Authoring works as well and it does not support .scc captioning files.

But, it is possible to convert the .scc captioning files to .srt using the free of charge app SubtitleEdit. SubtitleEdit is capable of batch converting as well.

Thanks, Ann. I sent them a note to see if their software allows the use of .scc captioning files. Appreciate the help.

I have a custom-built computer. It did not come with any third-party software.
