I have an LG DVD/Blu-ray burner.  I always burn my DVD's at the maximum 16X.  Never had problems playing the DVD's.  I burn the Blu-ray's at the maximum 6X.  I have not encountered any problems playing them.  I have made DVD's and Blu-ray's for other people. They have not had problems playing them.

Diana,

I found on this forum:

"How fast a disc can be burned is determined by the firmware in your burner. It compares the media code on the disc to a table which contains the burn strategy for that type of disc."

So like Ann mentioned, it probably has to do with your drive firmware then. Again, you should really try to burn at slower speeds anyway. Specially if you are burning from Encore.

I never burn at full speed, I always use 1/2 speed.

Hi! I've had individuals from this forum suggest to not burn the master from Encore. You should render our your project as an image or disc files, and burn them separately. Are you on Windows or Mac? They both allow you to burn from images by default, I think this would be your safest route. Also, I tend to burn at low speeds. Good luck!

Do you see the drop down speed option?

a) Burning any faster than the default that comes up "may" reduce compatibility.

b) Many of us never burn with Encore. Build to an image and burn with something else: on Windows, ImgBurn.
