If I have a completed project at a particular aspect ratio, and I want to option another, say I have the first at 2.35:1 and I want to have the same video reformated to 16:9

how do I do that and retain all previews, for each

Cheers

Kevin

If you want another sequence in a different aspect ratio you will be dealing with pillarboxing or letterboxing.

What you can do really quickly is make another sequence and drop your original sequence into it (nesting sequences).

also, there is no need to copy the project and start new one with other aspect ratio.. and in fact, sometimes when you do that you lose the link to your original project ( it become offline sometimes )… best is to keep it same project, with sequences as different aspect ratios ( nested as suggested means you just move the stuff into the new sequence ).

Exactly. As Rodney is pointing here, don't make a new project. Just a new squence and nest another squence inside (just drag and drop your original sequence into the new one and it gets nested).

I agree with Marer. In case it's unclear, letterboxing means black bars on top and bottom and pillarboxing is black bars on right and left .

I think you can start a new sequence at 16:9 and put stuff in there and scale it down for your width to fit OK ( black bars on top and bottom) …

Thanks Rodney,

But that would be virtually starting over correct?

What would happen if I copy the project, and imported that copy as a new project set at 16:9
