Hindi characters display wrong

Software:

I'm using Windows 10, and  Premiere Pro version 2017.0.2

Problem:

In Premiere Pro, certain Hindi characters do not display correctly when I make a title.

Description:

I have a word document with some Hindi text.  If I copy and paste the text into a title in Premiere, it shows up with different Hindi letters.  I have tried several fonts (Devanagiri New, Sanskrit, Mangal) and it's the exact same problem every time.

You can see the Hindi text on the Left, inside a word documet.  If I copy and paste the text into a Premiere title, it shows up incorrectly.  You can see that in Premiere, on the right, it's different characters.

Additional information:

In the screenshot you can see I'm copying from LibreOffice Writer, but I also tried Notepad, and I even tried copying from my Chrome browser, and it's always the same problem.

I have the exact same problem copying into Photoshop, just FYI.  But I'm interested right now in solving the problem for Premiere

Can anyone Help?

Correct answer Zac Corrigan

The problem has been solved.  I needed to go to Edit>Preferences>Titler and change the text engine to South Asian.

Adobe support helped me figure this out, in a chat.
