Question

How to add chapter menu in Premiere Pro

Hello,

with Encore no longer available, how do I add a chapter menu in Premiere Pro for a BluRay od DVD disk?

I can set chapter markers. But how do I use them to allow a user to jump to a given chapter?

I have searched the tutorials but did not find anything.

Further question:

I have produced a movie from a meeting with my relatives which I would like to share with them. How do I export a BluRay- or DVD ISO image to distribute a link to the ISO image instead of burning disks and sending them by mail to my relatives.

Hermann-Josef

PS: I use the latest version of Premiere Pro on a Win10 64bit system

I no longer create DVD or Blu-ray video discs.  I use wetransfer.com to send my videos.  A link is sent through  e-mail.  You can send up to 2 gigabytes for free.  We Transfer does not reincode videos like Youtube, Vimeo, etc.  Most newer TV's  and Blu-ray players have USB ports that can play videos.

You cannot do that in Premiere Pro today.

You can do it in TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6 and it you have their TMPGEnc Movie Plug-in AVC for Premiere Pro installed you can export your chapters as well and TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6 use them the same way Encore did.

I use both and can create ISO images of the finished Blu-ray or DVD and the chapters a set in Premiere Pro carries over to TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6 if i click on Advanced and check Output chapter marker list file in the Export Settings dialog in Premiere Pro when exporting using TMPGEnc Movie Plug-in AVC for Premiere Pro.

No, i have no affiliations with Pegasys, i am just a paying end user.

Download a free full functional trial version and test.

Thanks for the replies, I was afraid this was the answer. Is it logical to abandon these two features in Premiere Pro? What could be the reason for that? Puzzling ...

In the meantime it occured to me that I still have a licence for PremiereElements13. I think I will import my complete movie, add the chapter marks and menu and export it again from there. As far as I remember, ISO-export is also possible. Then I will make these temporarily available via my Adobe cloud.

You need an authoring program to create the Blu-ray iso. And that program will determine how you add chapters. There are several threads on alternatives to Encore.

For sending a video to family, consider putting one or more videos on Youtube or Vimeo and sending a link. You can add chapter links in Vimeo by adding timecode in the description:

You can export your marker list from PR: Export -> Markers
