How to add effect permanently to effects control panel?

Hi all,

I have a question relating to the effects control panel.

For a lot of my projects I use the crop tool a lot and I would like to have it permanently in my effects control panel.

Because currently I constantly have to go to the effects folder to select it and apply it on a specific clip that I am working on.

Then if I want to also crop another clip I have to search for it and apply it again.

which costs me a lot of time.

So basically my question is if it is possible to add the crop tool permanently to my effect controls?

Thanks a lot!

It's not possible to change the intrinsic effects, but are you aware of the masking tool on the intrinsic Opacity parameter, or for that matter every effect? I stopped using the Crop effect for the most part when the new masking tools were introduced a few years ago. It's definitely still handy in some cases, but this kind of gives you what you're looking for, but also with some powerful tracking tools.

I created a new bin in the effects panel and named it "Commonly used Effects". I then dragged "Crop" from Video Effects > Transform > Crop to the new bin. This makes a copy. It doesn't remove the effect from it's original location. Then I minimize the other categories so the effects I use easily accessible. It's not as easy as having crop as a default in Effects Control window, but it saves time.
