Question

How to burn a blu ray from Premiere Pro

how do I burn a blu ray from premier pro.  I am a small hobby guy and needed to turn some footage from a major fishing trip into a blu ray.  I generally have used elements in the past but I upgraded since elements 2019 does not support creating a blu ray or even an hd dvd.  I have completely edited and placed chapter markers.  I have set my export presets to satisfy a high grade blu ray, but now I have not been able to figure out how to burn or create the final product.  thanks for your help.

I used the following recently to author a Blu-ray.  I found it sufficient.

TMPGEnc Authoring Works 6 - The Ultimate DVD / Blu-ray / AVCHD Authoring Tool - Pegasys Inc.

I have it on a trial right now and in some areas it wins hands down over Encore. The subtitle text engine in Authoring Works 6 is superiour to Encores. I tested Authoring Works for some years ago and i notice that working with custom menues in version 6 is easier than before. I will buy it any day since i am more than happy with it. I would love to have more control over custom button highlights though, but it is sufficient as you say.

I use Works 5 to encode the files from Premiere (frameserve)

Then use Encore to author and make iso.

    Burn with CDburnXP.

If you have a subscription that includes PR CC, you can also install PR CS6 which includes Encore for DVD and BD authoring.

This is the link for info re using Encore CS6 with CC:

    https://helpx.adobe.com/encore/kb/encore-cs6-installed-cc.html

The screenshot of the cloud desktop is a bit misleading. Just click the arrow by Premiere Pro (not "install"), click manage, and then pick previous versions.

You must install the library separately. See the link on that page for instructions.

See the link on that page to the "using" Encore with CC tutorial (Using Encore CS6 with PremierePro CC « DAV's TechTable).

As Stan mentioned, first off get encore installed. When you export for blue ray you'll get the 2 files you need to put into encore timeline. Most of the challenge with encore is figuring out the settings for how your remote control buttons effect playing the disc after it's made.

Like, using your chapters and what to do when you hit 'stop' button, etc.

It's NOT intuitive and will require some investigation ( learning ).

In the end you can either burn the disc directly from encore, or export an ISO so you can burn it on other software.

Many people use the ISO method because the quality of the burn is actually BETTER on some free software than what encore can do.

When you do your first burn ( if your player can read and write to re-writable discs ), use the rewritable discs first …  to see the quality and result of your choices re: settings for buttons, etc.  OTHERWISE you end up with a lot of coffee cup or drink coasters for your coffee table.

Use single sided VERBATIM discs. When doing final DISC ( NOT RE-WRITABLE because most TV's can't play them ) and using ISO method, FINALIZE THE DISC if given the option.  Long story.

Once it's in Encore you just go back over and over again, adjusting your settings, until you got it right and the way you want..so once you get going it's pretty fast going.

Stan is the resident expert on all things ENCORE .. so if you need to send him private messages to help you with specific problems, cause that might be faster than waiting for him to come check out stuff in forum etc..if he has private message thing turned on.
