Question

How to download settings from creative cloud

I am having to cancel my Creative Cloud membership and start a new one a fresh. I have some Premiere Pro settings I would like to migrate. Does anyone know how to do this?

I figured the best ay would be to find a way to download settings from the cloud and store on a local hard drive, but I don't know how.

Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Pablo, Premiere Pro settings are in the directory we discussed, it seems. No Creative Cloud login is needed, I think?

    Hi,

I am working in a shared computer with other people. I would like to know a easy way to change settings without login in creative cloud. The settings are copied in the computer, so what should I do to change between them? Is there any similar way like in Avid?

    Thanks.

I don't see the problem with copying the settings for your Windows user. Those are the settings you actually use. Don't they work if you copy them (making sure that the new copy has the name of your new Windows user, if it's different). Creative Cloud logins just aren't relevant, the settings belong to the Windows user.

    Hi Simon,

Premiere Pro has quite a few settings but you really shouldn't need to manually move anything unless you're changing computers or user accounts on the computer. Like Maurice showed all of the application settings are stored in the user folder. Since this is the case changing subscriptions shouldn't have any effect.

Here is more info in case it's helpful

    Hi Dave

That's the thing. I am switching computers and the user logins are constantly changing so different people login to creative cloud.

It's ok, I will rebuild if i need to...

To be honest I think I just miss the Avid user settings way of doing things, because I could carry those around on a USB key.

Perhaps you could share with us some examples of what you see that concerns you (without giving away personal info). On my systems the main thing I see is a Profile-<user name> folder. This is of course my Windows user name on each machine, and has no connection to the Adobe ID.

    Hi bigpsi,

are you talking about the user preferences?
» Configure preference settings in Premiere Pro

Preferences are stored in the following location:

    • For Windows: <drive>\Users\<user name>\Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\<version>\Profile-<user name>
    • For Mac OS: <drive>/Users/<user name>/Documents/Adobe/Premiere Pro/<version>/Profile-<user name>

When a subscription ends, you won't be able to open any of Adobe's apps anymore. However, all user preferences will still be there as they're not bound to the subscription and won't get removed - unless you remove the apps from your PC.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Maurice

Thanks for the info - I did think of that, but that folder seems a big mess and how can I be sure the settings I want are in there? At present I download from my creative cloud subscription.

Also, it's a shared computer, so you can imagine it's a bit messy.

What do you mean by "that folder seems a big mess"? Where else might the settings be? What do you feel doesn't belong there?
