How to fix Audio Clipping in Premiere Pro?

Hello,

I'm new to video editing & new to working with premiere pro.

I recorded 2 hours of footage. Unfortunately, I have 2 problems.

Problem #1 is that my audio track is extremely left channel heavy & completely silent in the right channel. I would like to fix this so that if someone were to listen to my video, it would sound like my voice is being heard in both of their ears rather than just being heard from their left ear.

Problem #2 is that my audio is peaking/distorting in some areas & while in other areas my voice is too quiet to be heard. I would like to individually lower/cut the peaking/loud portions. Then I would like to raise the quiet portions of my audio track. I have some screaming in my audio track so I want to fix things individually rather than try to generalize or equalize my entire 2 hour audio track.

Does anyone have any advice on how to approach these problems? Thank you for your time. - Dani

for Problem #1 you can add the Audio Effects > Fill Right with Left effect.

for Problem #2 you can use the pen tool to add and manipulate audio level keyframes in the timeline, to raise and lower levels as needed (or use volume automation as described here https://blog.frame.io/2018/01/22/premiere-pro-audio-tools/)

although you note that you don't want a generalised equalisation for the whole track, you might want to check out the Audio Effects > Single-band Compressor effect using the (Custom Setup) Voice Leveller preset
