Incorrect video levels RGB 444 HDMI out

Has this always been an issue? If I have my DeckLink Mini Monitor set to output RGB on the HDMI out, then video levels are incorrect on the output. I can't find any other setting for this, it seems it just have to change the Blackmagic Desktop Video Settings to YCrCb in order to get correct black and peak white levels.

One update on this... It actually isn't too bad to set my monitor to Auto, so allowing me to set the Desktop Video setting for the DeckLink to YUV which works for PrmPro and Resolve can override that setting and switch to RGB 444 so the monitor auto switches. I still think Premiere Pro should show and allow users to select this on output and in interpreting input.

I wish I had experience with that, but I don't. I do know PrPro is "pure" Bt(Rec.) 709 ... and that's sRGB. It's been a while since I've had a colorist acquaintance go through his setup for such things as he switches from PrPro to Resolve or Baselight. But there are differences, and once you know the setup for each, one can pass media forth & back.

Well, until recently I was able to switch back and forth between Resolve and Premiere Pro Oh no same system but an update to Resolve has meant that I can currently only get a full 10bit output if I use the RGB 444 monitoring from the DeckLink card rather than YCrCb as I was doing before. That's now highlighted this issue in PrmPro, the SMPTE colour bars are wrong unless I manually switch back to YCrCb. There are no controls for this within PrmPro that I can find. It's always been a problem that you can't even change the way the video levels of footage is interpreted on import, that's been on my wish list for years. A control to set the level Video/Full on the output monitoring is needed too. Maybe it's better with different hardware like AJA?

I don't know specifically ... I'm not running any external boxes but looking at getting an AJA one now to work better with Resolve & my monitors. As I'm on a PC, the BlackMagic folk can't figure out exactly which of their boxes I should use for what I need, but they know one of their boxes will work, and I have been sent person to person to department ... quite the runaround.

So I looked at a couple AJA devices last NAB, probably picking one up soon.

The whole problem of PrPro NOT being able to set for color space/profiles with different media & monitors is a big issue. Even in my little shop, it's annoying, I don't understand how bigger shops and my colorist acquaintances stand it. They manage of course, roll their eyes some, and just get back to work.

All that said, I'd ask over at AJA. They seemed better able to give quick direct answers.

AND. Post that feature request for color space/profile options in PrPro? Please? They don't respond, but everything filed gets distributed to manager types on some collated list. So it does get seen.
