Issues with .VOB files

Hello,

I'm having trouble getting .VOB files to work - on importing, I get this message:

I can drop them into a sequence, picture appears to be fine but audio doesn't load correctly, & is hence silent. I will try & troubleshoot with another set of files but any suggestions would be a great help. Running Premiere Pro Version 12.1.2.

Thanks very much.

You've copied the vob files to your hard drive before importing to PR, correct?

Vob files can have a lot of information other than the audio and video streams. I'd look at one with MediaInfo to try to sort out whether that may be part of the problem. It might be helpful to post a screenshot  of the media info information using the  treeview. Sometimes vob files have to be converted before being used in PR.

First try clearing your media cache and import the file again. The path shown in your screenshot is the location of your media cache.

    OK thank you, some progress.

Although now is happening... Problem appears to be with the audio - trying to convert VOB to m4a or similar, but that's not working either. Tried exporting 'audio only' from quicktime - with a view to resyncing - which worked, but the resulting audio has the director's commentary encoded within - is there a way to separate that?

If the audio you have includes the director's commentary, there is another audio stream in the vob.
