CS4.2.1 developed a fault and I deleted it. Then I tried to re-install it from the disc but realised I have lost my serial number. What on earth do I do now?

Lost information - see reply #1 in https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2008767
- page has links to programs to find an installed serial number in Mac or Windows
- includes link to your Adobe account to check for registered serial numbers
- when you find your serial number(s) write them down and put in a desk drawer

That program can't find any missing stuff because I have completely uninstalled CS4 so it has nothing to link to. I have no idea what my Adobe ID was 10 years ago when I purchased CS4, I now have a new Adobe ID for CC which I am using, but I want to recover CS4 because I can't afford to pay out every month for CC. It was 10 years ago when I purchased CS4 from a retailer. Now I have no receipt, no packaging, no serial number, I have a new computer and a new email address. The only record of 10 years ago I have is the discs containing CS4 and I think I can remember my old email address.

Contact chat and ask the person to look up information for your old emal
Be sure to remain signed in with your Adobe ID before accessing the link below
-you must also allow 'cookies' in your web browser for this to work

If that doesn't work, there is no way that I know of to find your number

For anyone else reading this
Write all serial numbers on paper and put it in a folder in your desk
Write all serial numbers in a file and copy that file to an external drive

Thanks for that link. It gave a phone number for help 800 833 6687 but when I phone it, the number is blocked. Possibly it won't accept calls from outside the USA? I'm in England. Can anyone (Adobe staff?) give me a number so I can talk to someone about recovering my serial number?

Phone number cannot be blocked or you tried outside business hours.
Or try chat.

>think I can remember my old email address
When you do contact someone from Adobe, my understanding is that you will need BOTH your email address and your password for that address
Otherwise, anyone could call and ask for information linked to any email account
