Music peaking in premiere?

Any music I bring into Premiere, whether it be from iTunes or wherever, absolutely slams into the red zone at around -0.1 db.

What is the solution to this? Is it common to drop the gain on the track itself? Is there a certain marriage of bitrate/sample rate I need to be using?

How do people typically deal with this?

its normal , you can adjust the Audio gain from here  depends on where ots gonna be played, (Social media, Broadcast... etc )

i would say -12 db will be very good for both, but thats just me.

Right Click on the Audio in the Timeline

then adjust your gain using the Adjust Gain by or Set Gain to
