Question

New 24" iMac and Premiere Pro

All,

I am trying to decide between getting the 8GB RAM or the 16GB Ram new 24" iMac. I would use the iMac for video editing on Premiere Pro casually through 2021 but then would only use my iMac for Photoshop and Lightroom starting in 2022.

I currently have a 2017 iMac 21.5" 3.6GHz i7 with 16GB RAM and 1Tb Hard Drive (this iMac only has 4 cores and is not as fast as I would like). Is the new iMac much faster since it has 8 cores and threads and would I really need 16GB of RAM for Photoshop and a very small amount of use from Premiere Pro?

Thank you!

HI mbelinski

The adobe requirements for fluid editing are a current processor, )it could be an i 5 or a last generation i7) which if recommended is 16 bouquet that you don't say is which graphics card you use because it's a fundamental part of your work need of nothing serves you 16 or 32 ram if you use a basic graphic card.
