Question

New Premiere Pro is very unstable!

Hi everybody.

I am used to experiencing new iterations of Adobe products being unstable and being patched slowly, but this is the worst it has been and has forced me to come here for solutions. I am experiencing constant crashes for no reason, Premiere has become noticeably slower in dynamic link with After Effects, and when in Icon mode, it is now taking FOREVER to load the tiles for clips.... I used to just have to have these load once on opening the project, now whenever I switch workspaces all they tiles have to RELOAD all over again, and I'm not even dealing in a strenuous project.

I have worked on projects where I have had 250 clips in a project, half of them 4k and not had an issue, so dev team, what the hell have you done to this iteration of Premiere to cause THIS many issues? It is really affecting my workflow significantly.

I have tried reinstalling Premiere, I have changed renderers, graphics cards etc... so solutions would be nice.

Hi cameronl,

I am really sorry for the issue. It seems like an issue with access to the files or with permissions.

1. Please provide us more information related to the system configuration.

2. What is the location of the footage? If in an external drive, have you tried to check with a project with files in an internal drive?

3. Have you tried using a different Administrator account in the Operating system to check the performance?

4. Is there an error message after the crash? Please post a screenshot. FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video?

Thanks,

Vidya.

System configuration

Macbook Pro 2016

2.9ghz i7

16gig RAM

Radeon 460 Graphics card, but premiere is running on an external Nvidia 980ti GPU (Via thunderbolt 3)

Nvidia GPU is running an external adobe rgb monitor.

Footage is located on the internal drive.

Using a different account does not affect performance

I will check the next time it crashes and I will post my results.

Oh and forgot to mention that playback is much slower as much, using the same renderer (Cuda), that I have always been using.
