Question

Playback frame 'dances' around after applying Warp Stabilizer

Hello, new to Adobe Premiere so I hope this is an easy fix:

Whenever I apply Warp Stabilizer to one of my clips in a given segment, instead of creating a more smooth playback, the frame itself in the Program Window will move around in adjustment to the smoothness settings. Almost as if it's dancing around. Every tutorial I've seen doesn't have this issue. The frame remains still and rectangular while the clip becomes more smooth. Any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong? Below are the Effect Control Settings I have:

Result: Smooth Motion

Smoothness: 25%

Method: Subspace Warp

Preserve Scale: (unchecked)

Borders

Framing: Stabilize Only

Additional Scale: 100%

Advanced

Detailed Analysis: (unchecked)

Rolling shutter Ripple: Auto Reduction

Crop Less Smooth More: 30%

Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I too faced same problem when using warp stabilizer. I too don't know why it is dancing around even the clip was not too shaky. Any help?

Not every clip is suited to be stabilized.

You have the effect set to Stabilize only, set it to default (stabilize, crop, auto-scale)

Footage is about as shakey as what I've seen in the tutorials but even with some of the more severe ones, the outer frame still stays as a still rectangle. Not moving around the way mine does. Tried your suggestion with no change in results

Can you upload the clip?

Is there one thing in the un-stabalized frame that is moving quickly. It could be that the warp stabalizer is locking on to that to try and keep it still making the rest of the frame jumpy. After Effects might be a better choice for difficult footage.
