Question

Playback is too fast

midway through a project that was working fine I changed the speed of a clip to 60%, after that the entire timeline started playing in fast motion.

I read that a way of fixing this is to disable all audio inputs.. i tried that and IT WORKED!!! for about an hour.

The timeline starts playing fast motion again, i read that the problem may persist in CC 2017 even with the audio input disabled.

I update to CC 2018, the timeline works again... for about two hours.

This is unbelievably low quality for a product I'm paying for every month... the editing software can't even play the video at the correct [cursing removed by moderator] SPEED??????

And, to add insult to injury the way to remedy this problem as far as anyone can figure out is to change the audio input? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!

So someone, anyone, some answers would be nice on how to fix this. Because Adobe really has a ton of explaining to do.

Seems to be a variable frame rate issue.

Check out this link. Solve playback issues (too fast) in Premiere Pro - PixelStrobist

    Premiere Pro!!

    Adobe Premiere Pro...

the software that Adobe makes that you edit with that is notorious for having playback issues where the footage is sped up for no reason... I don't know what other software Adobe makes that the solution for such a problem was changing the audio input.. but YES, I'M TALKING ABOUT PREMIERE PRO... hopefully someone around here actually knows how to troubleshoot the program instead of asking inane comments... did I mention I am having trouble with Premiere Pro, made by Adobe and costing me money every single month whether it's working or not.

and an update, even an exported section of the sequence is also playing at the wrong speed.... hmmm I don't know what that has to do with the audio input either.... anyway, this video I'm editing has a deadline, can someone at Adobe offer some support for the thousands of dollars I've paid them?
