Premiere causes screen to blink on new MacbookPro 2018

Having a serious issue where the screen blinks on my Macbook Pros when working in Adobe Premiere.  At first I thought it was the computer so I actually returned a brand new 2018 Macbook Pro and ordered another one, well, EXACT same issue.  I also originally thought it was all apps but it's only if I have Premiere running that this happens.  I posted a few videos on youtube showing it.  Here is a link to the videos:

and

more macbook pro 2018 screen flickering - YouTube

Computer is 2018 Macbook pro, 32 RAM, 1T SSD, Vega 20 graphics.  Nothing else installed on the computer yet but Adobe Programs.  Oddly enough when I plug in an external HDMI monitor the flickering ceases and when I close Adobe programs it also goes away (even though in the videos I thought it was across them, Premiere was still running).

Thanks,

Rob

Hi Rob,
Are you still experiencing the problem? And is it just with Premiere?
As a repair technician who provides MacBook Pro Repair services, I can assure you that this issue seems more like a software compatiblity issue.

Do either of you have updates available for your OS? Check it here: How to update the software on your Mac - Apple Support

I have exactly the same problem with the same Macbook/Vega20. @adobe ... any hint?

Hi Rob,

Sorry for the flickering issue. What is the exact dot version of the OS? Is there any update available?

What is the exact dot version of Premiere Pro? FAQ: How to find the exact version of Premiere Pro you're using?

Just for a test, change the renderer in project settings and see if it fixes the issue. Here are the steps: FAQ: How to change the Video Renderer in Premiere Pro?

Thanks,

Vidya

Version is 13.0.2 Build 38.   It does it on all three rendering settings, seems the least problematic on open GL but still does it.  I also found that just having Lightroom or Premiere open yet minimized causes blinking, if I shut them down it totally ceases.

Thanks,

Rob

Since reducing video overhead reduces the issue, you might be running out of VRAM, Rob. What is the source footage? Any scaling from 4K to HD going on? How about GPU accelerated effects? Any Lumetri color effects?

Thanks,
Kevin
