Premiere Pro - AAF export causes distortion to audio files

Hi there. I've been editing a lot of videos for the past year using Premiere Pro without a problem. I always export the audio via AAF and then import it to Pro Tools where I finish the audio. I've probably done about 30-40 videos that way without a problem. But today was the first time encountering a problem regarding AAF export.

I'm editing this wedding video where I have 6-8 songs in it and everytime I export AAF version of the project to then work on in Pro Tools, the audio files come out distorted and clipping. I've tried every combination of AAF export (tried all the settings) and nothing works. When I create AAF file with ''separate audio'' I can listen to the files before I import them to ProTools and even then they distort and clip.

I tried exporting a OMF file and that works perfectly, no distortion and no clipping but I want to keep on using AAF. I'm using the newest version of Premiere.

Here's an example of how the audio files sound after exporting them via AAF:

How can I fix this?

EDIT:

Now when I try to export OMF I also get distortion, pops and crackles in my audio.

I'm working on sound mixing for movies. I'working with Pro Tools and Nuendo.

Got the same issue over here when I open an OMF from Premiere in Pro Tools or Nuendo. So it must be a Premiere exporting problem. Already any solution?

what are the sources that are clipping? Are they .mp3?  Try converting to .wav or .aiff prior to ingest.  Or if the cut is already built then just relink to the converted media and re-export the .aaf again.  That worked in my studio (and clipped again linking back to the .mp3), so pretty sure this is the solve.  Would be good to have another person confirm it too, thanks.

Thanks Evans. But this is sadly not the solution.

The cutters I work with, always work only with wav files.

Another professional sound colleague confirmed the same issue. He works in a big TV station. His only solution until now, is replacing the infested sound files of the OMF by the original wav files. That means, the cutter has to deliver beside the OMF the original wav extra. That means, the sound guy has to edit them again. Is this the sense of an OMF?

The annoying thing is, that this worked before in older Premiere Versions. What happend?

Cheers!
