Premiere pro CC 2019 High CPU

Since I updated to the 2019 version the CPU load goes up even when I just edit Full HD footage.

With the 2018 version, it was no problem and I could playback in full resolution. But now even with 1/4 it's slow and jerks around.

I even tried 720p proxies but still the same issue. Also when I enable CUDA the GPU goes to 100% and the whole program freezes for 10 to 20 second.

I have the latest driver from Nvidia. I have a GTX 760 and an i7-4790K with 16GB ram and 12GB dedicated just for Premiere.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

I think what everybody despises even more is this bulltootoo excuse for a support site.

The current owners of Adobe must not know what has been going on.

The annual subscription model has created a situation that rewards the lazy and incompetent.

Think about it.

It is the reason why predator anti capitalists buy out their competition. So they do not have to work.

Monopoly Corporations are for pin head insecure people who never can get satisfaction from their work because they are not fully matured in their minds.

Note that the minimum system requirements have changed between CC 12.x (2018) and 13.x (2019). CC 2019 now requires a 6th-generation (Skylake) or later CPU in order to perform anywhere near its optimal level. Your CPU, like the one in my current main system, is only a 4th-generation (Haswell) CPU. As such, CC 2019 will launch but performance will become degraded.

Also, 2 GB of VRAM on the GPU is now the minimum requirement for CC 2019; however, 4 GB or more VRAM is recommended.

An update on the minimum system requirements for Premiere Pro CC 2019:

A 6th generation or later Intel or AMD equivalent CPU is recommended, not required. I got CC 2019 to run on my 4th-generation dual-core i5 laptop - hardware H.264 encode AND OpenCL MPE GPU render acceleration enabled and all! This means that the minimum CPU requirement to run the program at all should be changed to a 1st-generation Intel Core I series CPU or its AMD performance equivalent. And the minimum RAM requirement remains 8 GB minimum, 16 or more GB recommended for Full HD, but now adds 16 GB minimum, 32 or more GB recommended for UHD.

Thanks! But it's kind of stupid that I now need a bigger CPU to edit the same footage resolution as before.

Your footage has not changed but the software did.

When software changes usually this means you also have to adjust the hardware.

You may want to try changing the GPU in project setting off of "Metal" and see if that helps. I have run in to difficulties with that setting on certain machines.

Hi,

what do you mean by Metal? I don't see any option with that.
