Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC crash immediately after launch

So, I've been having some problems with a lot of Adobe apps for some time now on my computer. Apps, especially Premiere Pro CC and After Effects CC, crash immediately after launch (They will sometimes stay open a few seconds, but will then crash and prompt me to send a crash report to Adobe, which I always do but to no avail). I've been trying a lot of different thing I read on a lot of different support websites to try and help me sort this thing out : Updated my BIOS, got the latest Driver for my GPU, downgraded my driver, downgraded my Premiere and After effects versions, Uninstalling and re-installing drivers, modifying preferences in both apps and in my graphics control panel as well as doing anything in This thread.

Nothing seems to be working though, and I'm really getting desperate. I know that my GPU isn't broken, since I can still run games fairly easily, and I know it's compatible, since a few of my friends also use this GPU to run Premiere/After Effects and they're not having any problems. I believe there might be something else, but I haven't been able to find any definitive answer to my search. Any help would be gladly appreciated.

Here's my computer specs :

ASUS GL553VD

Intel i7-7700HQ CPU @ 2.80GHz

16GB RAM

Intel HD Graphics 630

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 (Driver Creator Ready Driver Version 419.67)

I have Asus latest BIOS (.307 if I'm not mistaken)

If you need anymore info in order to help me, I'll gladly oblige. I just want to be able to work from my home again.

Thank you.

    Correct answer Ann Bens

Thank you Ann! Do I need to do that via chat/phone? I don't see any video queue option on the contact customer Care page.

Once chat is established you ask for video queue (not line )

I won't presume to answer for Ann, but my own experience trying to fix a computer someone owned had me in this situation:

Contact IT people ( customer care in this case ? ) via telephone. Also have computer on and connected via chat to IT people.  That way I guess they know what computer they are dealing with ...

Then they 'take control' of your computer ( a technician uses some program that allows them to move your mouse and check your specs, settings, preferences, etc....remotely.. I think the program is called 'remote acess' or something.

Once in a while they will ask you via telephone to do some stuff manually... like if they restart the computer you'll need to do whatever you do to get to windows etc.

Ann is from northern Europe I think. In U.S. we " stand in line "  In Europe people "stand in queue "...  case you're wondering...

It's alright bud. If I'm lucky someone else might come in and find a solution to this problem. In the meantime I'm still looking on the internet in case something else pops up

I'm back, after trying everything on the page, the problem still remains both on premiere and Da Vinci. What's more, Da Vinci Resolve now doesn't give me any error code, so I'm back to square one...

I've asked my friend for some info on his PC. As it stands, all of his specs are lower than mine (i5 2.40GHz processor, only 15% of his disk available, but the same graphic card), but he is still able to run premiere and After Effects, which is pretty weird. Anyone got any idea what's going on with my computer?

your welcome. Well, something is wrong with your minimum requirements to edit film at this point. Is there any way you can upgrade it without being a real pain re: money ??

I don't think I can at the moment sadly, and even though the problem might be that, i doubt it a bit, since a few months ago I was able to edit videos on this same laptop without any problems.https://windowsreport.com/event-1000-application-error-windows-10/

Using Da vinci did help me with something : In the event viewer, I was able to get more information on the cause of the crash (Event 1000). I'm gonna try the steps from This link.

If it works, I'll keep you updated, but now, I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

P.S. when installing davinci, check ALL BOXES to install everything ( .net framework etc.. )

I know it sounds crazy, but maybe there's a totally different problem involved. Maybe your CC program is trying to verify your account or something in the background, and is failing that or something. Who the heck knows.

???  If resolve works ( in media and edit page … don't bother going to fusion, fairlight or color pages ).. and doesn't crash without adding anything to media pool and timeline, than your computer theoretically SHOULD be able to handle your CC stuff in my opinion.

Yeah I thought about that too. I already have Resolve install, but it does the exact same thing as Premiere CC : Crahses on startup or opens for a few sec, allow me to look for some media, but crashes after less than a minute.

I already had thought that if Da Vinci worked, I could edit on it since it would allow me to work from home for Uni, but since it seems to be experiencing the same problem, I came to realise that the problem probably comes from somewhere in my Laptop.

Thanks a lot for the help btw rod!

hmmmm. what a pain in neck !

Ummm, I know this is crazy, and I don't mean to throw some monkey wrench into stuff or bad mouth Adobe in any way, cause their programs are fantastic !  But I'm curious... if you download the free version of Davinci Resolve ( 15.2 or whatever it is now ).. not the studio version... does that actually open and stay open without crashing BEFORE you add any source material or do ANYTHING other than start a new project at 1080p 23.97 fps, and just keep project settings at default settings ??  You can immediately uninstall it after this test....
