AVCHD files do not import into premiere pro cs6. it starts to import than says "not responding" I attempted import via media browser but also no good. I copied camera avchd files onto hard drive and still no good. I have a client depending on me. Please help. I've been working with pp cs6 a while and this has never happened. I also tried to import using a different camera and no good. Please help me.

With most AVCHD you need to copy the entire card structure into a folder on a local drive, and the using the Media browser navigate to and "Import" them. I think they are typically "stitched" clips on the card, with perhaps separate audio files, and there's an info-base in another folder that links the bits to actual "clips".
I hope that's what you've done so far?

yes that was what I had done. When ppro saves files it seems to save a bunch of crap all together. I'm not sure how or what I've actually done but I now save certain parts to a different file and that seems to have worked. Adobe really sucks to end support as it did. thanks

Its not crap its actually metadata.
Premiere only imports/ingests the mts files. Rest is regarded as not supported (which is correct).

The problem was it didn't import anything (even MTS files) while the "metadata" was saved in the same place as the .mts files. saving the metadata in a separate location solved this issue.

I am not talking metadata Premiere but metadata that comes along with the mts files on the card.
Did you copy the entire card to hdd first and then ingest via Media Browser?
