Premiere Pro preview colors wrong

After importing imagery from After Effects or Photoshop colours display wrong in the preview window, the darks are much blacker. This is not the typical export complaint - it only appears to be a Premiere preview issue, because PP exports back into Photoshop and matches the original perfectly. Why does PP (latest version) do this when previewing as I obviously can't edit like this... I have tried with 8, 16 & 32 bpp imagery & all have same results.

I am going to download Vegas to test... what's the bet it will "just work" and my entire pipleline will have consistancy...

FIXED!

OMG lol. Ok, go File > Project Settings > Renderer > Mercury Playback Engine Software Only. i.e. NOT CUDA lol.

I am using an old GTX 1070, do newer 30xx series cards have a CUDA version that works with Premiere?
