As you did not tell us what you exactly have done, nobody can help you.

Why would you want 4.0.1 as 4.2.1 is the last update.

After having difficulties with premiere pro cs4 and exporting the video, (the video comprime the images in the centre and stretch the images at the sides) i thought to install the updates for premiere pro cs4. but then i get a window with a text: no active files available (if i translate this correct from dutch).

so, why is that? i remember i could run the updates easily.

At some point in the past (I don't know the exact date) Adobe "merged" the original update manager into the Cloud update manager, which means you are no longer using your original update manager

I have read some messages that the latest (Cloud) updater sometimes doesn't work with old programs... Try installing your updates manually
