Question

Premiere takes 2 seconds to pause

Hi there, first time posting to any forum ever so apologies if I'm missing information. (video example of the problem below)

I am running into an issue where I will hit the space bar and premiere will not pause the video for 2 seconds after I've hit it. I am working with pro-res proxies, the lowest resolution program window, and I have cleared out my cache. I'm unsure where to move on from here. I provided a video example below of what this looks like when I'm editing. It happens fairly frequently and I just noticed it will also happen if I am only editing audio.

Here are my computer specs:

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)

Processor: 3.6 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9

Memory: 72 GB 2667 MHz DDR4

Graphics: Radeon Pro Vega 48 8 GB

Try Preferences > Audio Hardware and set Input to None.

Try resetting the preferences:

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Workspaces:
Reset a workspace
Reset the current workspace to return to its original, saved layout of panels.
1. Do one of the following:
• Click the Workspace menu icon and select Reset to Saved Layout.
• Choose Window > Workspace > Reset to Saved Layout.

Thank you for the suggestion. I didn't consider this. I'll give them both a try!
