How do I remove a pretty bad moire pattern happening in a video? I am using premiere at the moment and applying a gaussian blur does not seem to help the problem at all.

you can with median blur transfer as color if.. the colors aren't rippling/moving, if they are, its luma channel is destroyed and only a luma blur will fix it which causes image degradation.

well reshooting is not a very helpful answer. Not always possible.
Moire is usually because of too much sharpness in the camera. If reshooting is possible, turn sharpness all the way down even into minus (most cameras -3 shazrpness is actually zero, no added sharpening)
if reshooting is not possible, try applying a gaussian blur to the section of the footage where the moire is visible. (mask out areas you want to keep sharp)
other than that some plugins work well - neat video and red giant denoiser both work well.

Depending on your footage. Sometimes "Field Options" > "Flicker Removal" sometimes helps.
