Hi All

I'm looking for a way to remove unused files from my hard drive. The premier tool to remove unused files from the project is awesome but need to follow it through to removal from hard drive too. Anyone out there doing something like this already?

Thanks

I recommend using Windows Explorer or Finder for all file management.

Jim's method is safer, too.

Just as a point of clarification, XMiL is a mac only tool for easily locating used or unused source files from a Premiere (or FCP-X, FCP-7 or Avid ALE) project.

The deletion of those files is done by the user at the Finder level.

I recommend using Windows Explorer or Finder for all file management.  They generally work pretty flawlessly.

I don't believe that Premiere will do this for you. If, before you delete the project you can highlight the files in your Project panel and then right click/reveal in Explorer (Windows) or Reveal in Finder (Mac) and the windows will open up which hold the files.

This will get you the locations and I do believe that you have to delete them manually.

I know what you mean it would even be handy if premier was able to highlight the project files left when you tell it to show in explorer/finder then you could select inverse and delete :-( was hoping someone knew of a script or after market program

If you are Mac based, this little app is awesome:

XMiL Workflow Tools - Marker

don't know of a solution for windows.
