Sound problems in encore CS4

I have a long project (almost 4 hours)and I am using a Dual Layer DVD.  I have opened Encore as Administrator.  When I burn my DVD the video is fine but the sound is gone and is replaced with an annoying screeching sound. I have lowered the bit rate but made no difference.  I have my setting set using Dolby. my project works fine before trans-coding.  Any help would be much appreciated.

Do you have multiple assets on one timeline? Video or audio.

Are your video assets DVD legal when you import? Or are  you transcoding in Encore?

Thanks Stan for the assist.  to break it down for you. 

Video 1  Video from camera

Video 2  JPEG converted from PowerPoint

Video 3  JPEG (used for a bug)

Video 4  Titles (created in Premiere CS4

I went back to check my project and found that I did have some titles and JPEG on the same line.  I made the correction and

re-rendered project.  I have sent it to Encore for another try.

Good Afternoon Stan,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but I have been trying to pull a rabbit out of a hat!  I have narrowed it down to a video line of JPEG's that came from a powerpoint presentation.  If I turn off this video line my project will transcode in Encore just fine with a good quality sound and video.  If I insert the video line with jpeg's back in my audio is replaced with an annoying sound, no real audio( the jpegs appear just fine).  I am able to use media encoder to create a video file with good results no conflicts.

I fell like I might have a setting wrong somewhere but no sure where to look.


Very large still images often cause Encore problems. What pixel size are they?

My rule of thumb: adding assets on Encore timelines is asking for trouble. If you are making a slideshow where you want to use manual slide advance, then the slideshow in Encore is a way to get that.

Using Encore terminology, which are you doing: the sequence of jpgs are being adding on a timeline with other assets (e.g. a movie) or they are added on their own timeline?
