The Grey Screen of Nothingness

Hi,

Currently trying to edit and my Premiere Pro CC 2018 is running very slowly, choppy, which I can live with (barely), but sometimes when I click on particular tabs, the entire project goes completely grey leading to the inability to continue work. Are you aware of any solutions to this issue?

System Specs:

i7 6700k 4Ghz
16 GB RAM
GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X
CUDA enabled.
HDD and SSD.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you,

When the screen goes blank, go to the menu Window > Workspaces > Reset to Saved Layout.

Hi MtD,

That seems to work, so thank you for the emergency fix; however, are you aware of a more permanent solution that doesn't require me resetting my layout every 60 seconds?

In my experience, the problem seems to be project dependent, and once you do it a couple of times in a particular project the problem disappears. Not sure if that is the experience of others.
