Video in portrait (vertical) mode, and horizontal canvas

Hello,

I, like many others, have captured videos with my camera (or phone) in portrait mode (a "no-no" apparently).  I've searched quite a bit and have not found a method for turning or flipping the canvas (staging area?) to match the video orientation, in other words from landscape/horizontal to portrait/vertical.  I did find how to rotate the video using rotate effect, but not the canvas.  Maybe someone can point me in the right direction, if this is possible.  Thank you,

Gustavo

looks like you are using an older version of Premiere that does not support changing the frame size after the fact (yes believe it or not but this was not so flexible a few versions ago). what you can do is create a new sequence with the right frame size and copy paste your timeline to there.

you canvas settings is called "frame size" and it is in the sequence settings. when you sequence is active, go to sequence->sequence settings and change the editing mode to custom. now you can change the frame size

Hi Roel,

Thanks.  How do I make the sequence active?  The video is imported and loaded onto the video timeline.  Editing mode is grayed out.
