Why do my video clips look low quality in adobe playback?

I am editing a short film for class and am about half way through, but I've noticed some really irritating waves, or lines running through a lot of my clips that make it look like I recorded through a TV or something. It just gives me a headache to look at and it does not look good in general. My actual clips look perfectly clear, so I don't know why they changed in the editor. Is there any way to fix this? I don't care much if it will export normally but I have a feeling it won't. Thanks everyone.

    Set playback resolution to "Full."

I that doesn't do it, try updating or rolling back your video driver directly from the video card manufacturer's site.

I don't have a clue what you're seeing, so how about a screen-grab dropped into your reply?

Also ... it's often helpful to know about the computer ... OS/CPU/RAM/GPU/vRAM ...

The precise number-dot-number version of PrPro (it often misses when updates are out) ...

The type of media used, what kind of device created it, and what effects or third-party apps/plugins have been involved if any.

I'm using Premiere Pro CC Version 12.0.0 (Build 224)

Laptop: Macbook Pro,13-inch model, 2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz, with 64MB of eDRAM

I recorded on a 2013 Canon vixia hf g20, 24fps if that helps

When I pause the playback, the image goes back to looking crystal clear so I don't think the screenshot helps me explain. I played around with field options and switched to "flicker removal" which took away the strange waves, but it made the video noticeably lose detail and crispness where the waves had been. The waves seem to appear whenever there is any kind of motion in my shot, still shots look just how they did on my camera.
