Work Area Bar Not Extending

Just updated to CC 2018 today. I was working on a project in CC 2017 and everything was 'normal'. Upon updating, the work area bar does automatically extend to the end of the timeline when adding new clips. Not sure if this is a setting to change, a CC glitch, or because I'm working from an updated project file (which, at this point, is still very uncomplicated and straight forward).

I turned it on and off. I have restarted. It still is not working. It just sits there. I use for rendering effects and creating sample exports mostly and would like to have on.

Any suggestions?

Double click once on it to extend it.

I have not used the WAB for years since i prefer using In/Out points instead when rendering effects or defining exports but do remember that once i manually adjusted the WAB it did never extend automatically again.

There's nothing you need it for.  Rendering and exporting sections can also be done using In/Out points.

Once you manually adjust the WAB, it will no longer automatically adjust.  This was a constant frustration of the WAB, and the best reason to abandon it altogether.

I'm experiencing issues with the work area bar using the latest premiere pro cc 2018 on both mac and win ...

when dragging its in and out handles, sometimes, not always, it automatically misbehaves collapsing both handles at the same frame, so i have to drag it again and it will work the second or third time i do this.

Trashing the preferences and starting fresh new projects do not solve this issue for me, so I dunno if we should

consider it a bug. On cc 2017 I don't have this issue.

If someone has other solutions let us know, if not, then I guess we should file a bug request and votes will

be required to get it working properly in the coming updates.

Trash Preferences,

If that does not help,

reinstall the program,

Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
